Days 33

When I heard the news that Mr. Hiroshi Nagai passed away, I didn't know what to do. I though I had to do something, but nothing I could do.

Then I found announcement of his funeral on facebook. It would be on tonight and tomorrow.

I ask to my mind "Can I go tomorrow?". The temple was far from here (two and half hours by train and bus).

I thought I had the right to say thanks to him, had the duty to say thanks to him.

I made up my mind to go there, then I could ease my mind a little.

永井宏さんの訃報を聞いて
なにかしなくてはと思うが
なにが出来るわけでもない。

そのうち
facebookにお通夜とお葬式の告知が出ているのを見つけた。

通夜は今日の夕方6時からとある。
今やっている仕事の初校が今日の午後出る予定なので
どうやらそこには行けない。
行くなら明日朝10時からのお葬式だろう。

お寺は遠い。
阿佐ヶ谷からは軽く2時間半。
それでも行くことに決めた。

呼ばれてないのに
お葬式って行ってもいいものだろうかと
思わないでもないが、
ぼくは永井さんに
「ありがとうございます」を伝える権利と
義務があるように思った。

行くことを決めたら
すこしだけ気分がラクになった。
